My Story

Inner Vitality- the combination of acupuncture and nonsurgical facial aesthetics- is the result of a personal journey.

I am a first generation immigrant from South Korea, the oldest of four siblings, blessed by parents who value education and a strong family.

I completed my undergraduate studies in Biology at Stanford University, and my Medical Doctor degree at the University of California San Francisco.  In 1999 I completed my six year training in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Washington Medical Center.

For the last 18 years I have practiced Ear, Nose and Throat surgery locally with Bellevue ENT.  Over the years my practice has focused increasingly on both surgical and non-surgical facial aesthetic treatments.   My aesthetic practice has taught me that subtle improvements in the face positively impact a patient’s sense of well-being and self confidence.

More recently, I pursued well-being from a different perspective.   I completed a 3-year Masters Degree in Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine at the Seattle Institute for Oriental Medicine (recently renamed Seattle Institute for East Asian Medicine).  I then integrated Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine into my ENT practice.   I came to appreciate the value of treating my patients in a more comprehensive fashion.

After much soul-searching, I decided to let go of surgery and the specialty of ENT to focus more in depth on my two passions: Acupuncture/East Asian Medicine, and Facial Rejuvenation.

My background allows me to offer a unique blend of knowledge and expertise to my acupuncture and aesthetics patients.  I integrate Western and Eastern perspectives to find the combination that is optimal for your health and well-being.
